Glory in a Penzance hedgerow
TO celebrate the start of glorious June, I'm including a simple picture inspired by bright orange blooms in a Penzance hedgerow.
I was dazzled by the intense colour of these marvellous flowers and decided to capture their qualities in this hasty sketch.
Naturally, I failed miserably to match their beauty, but the one merit of this undistinguished painting is that it serves to remind me of their all-too-brief lives and the colour they brought to a side street in the Cornish port.
Hence its title, Penzance Hedgerow. That says it all.
